Moving Into a Retirement Village?
Fixed-Fee Occupation Right Agreement Advice
Most of our clients have already chosen their retirement village before they come to us.
They’ve found the village they like, selected their unit, paid a deposit, and received a stack of documents that now need to be reviewed before they can move forward.
Our role is to explain the documents, the fees, and the financial implications so you understand exactly what you’re agreeing to before you commit.
Fixed fee. Clear advice. No surprises.
How Our Process Works
1. Book your advice appointment
Book your Retirement Village Advice Appointment online at a time that suits you.
We intentionally schedule these appointments a few weeks ahead so there is time to obtain and review the village documents before we meet.
2. We send our engagement documents
Once booked, you’ll receive our terms of engagement and fee advance request.
Your booking is secured once the fee advance has been paid.
3. We review the documents
We’ll obtain and review the Occupation Right Agreement and supporting village documents, identify the key financial and legal implications, and prepare our advice ahead of your appointment.
We’ll also send you a short questionnaire so we understand any particular concerns or questions you would like to addressed.
4. Advice and signing appointment
We’ll explain the documents, answer your questions, provide the independent legal advice required by law, and complete the legal certification process if you decide to proceed.

Your Legal Rights
Under New Zealand law, you must receive independent legal advice before entering into an Occupation Right Agreement.
