Running a modern law firm like Regent Law means doing things a little differently. We’re not traditional, and we’re definitely not stuffy — and that extends to how and where I work.

Instead of a fixed office, I base myself out of a local co-working space. While I’m not there full-time (in fact, I mostly just use the meeting rooms and facilities), it’s made a huge difference in how I run my practice and balance life as a working mum.

Here’s why it works so well for me — and my clients.

Less Downtime, Less Hassle

One of the biggest perks? I don’t have to worry about the upkeep of an office. No vacuuming. No printer dramas. No time lost figuring out why the WiFi’s gone down again. All the essentials are taken care of, which means I can focus on legal work, not logistics.

As someone who commutes, juggles toddlers, and squeezes a lot into each day, having that mental load lifted is invaluable.

I Now Have a Client Dropbox!

A small but mighty win: I now have a secure dropbox at the co-working space. So if a client wants to drop off original documents, they can do so easily — no need to sync schedules or book a meeting.

(I’ve popped a photo in here so you can see what it looks like!)

The People Make the Place

Even though the people in the building aren’t part of Regent Law, you wouldn’t know it from the way they treat my clients. Everyone is so welcoming — genuinely warm, helpful, and kind. It’s a far cry from the stiff, impersonal vibes you often find in traditional law firms.

There’s a real sense of community here. It’s not competitive, it’s collaborative. Everyone wants to be here — which makes such a difference. There’s no one stuck in a rut or watching the clock. Just good people doing good work, and cheering each other on.

A Modern Way to Work

Post-COVID, so many of us have embraced more flexible ways of working. For me, that means offering legal services remotely and meeting clients by video or in a relaxed co-working space when needed.

Some clients prefer the face-to-face touch — and I get that! That’s why I still offer in-person meetings. But I’m not tied to a dusty office that sits empty most of the week. I can meet clients in a fresh, modern space, or help them wherever they are.

It’s practical, efficient, and a better use of resources — for me, for my clients, and for the planet.

Thinking about working with me or dropping off documents?
Get in touch first to make sure I’m in the right place at the right time — but rest assured, I’ve got a comfy meeting room ready when you need it and a dropbox for everything else.

P.S. If you’re a fellow professional thinking about ditching the traditional office, I can’t recommend co-working enough. It might just be the change you didn’t know you needed.
